Leave pit viper fan in when shutting vents?

If I leave fan in the bottom vent of my Kamado when I want to snuff out the fire will I damage the fan?

I don't think so but I would put the slide on the fan to the closed position.

I always pull it and the adapter and close the damper.

I do the same with the PartyQ and put the plug in on my PBC. Think it snuffs faster.

I always remove the Pit Viper fan, close it's damper and plug the adapter.

I always seem to get some condensation in the fan assembly during a cook so I always remove it after to let it dry.

I’d at least close the slider. Hot air going back through the fan will eventually cause problems.

Well I’m so lazy I don’t try to save the coals so I let the fan run til the fire is out.

I do the same on my kettles but my Kamado is like a truck. You fill up the tank and you're good for multiple cooks. Plus you can top her off in between. I get great mileage with that Kamado.
