    DigiQ DX2 is Awesome!

I own an old RJ Kamado K7, and getting that thing to hold a steady temperature, AND not burn out has been a real challenge. I've always figured that it was because the area I live in is very exposed and windy. I bought a BBQ Guru when they first came out, and it helped, but the fan was too small, so it had a lot of trouble if the fire started to die down. Cut to now. I broke the leads on the Guru, so I figured I'd update to the new version which also has a fan twice a large as the old one. Now I know people have posted about this before, but I just felt like some background was in order to explain how amazed I am at this new controller.

For the first time, the smoker held 225 within 20 minutes of closing the smoker, and held it there all night without a break! Only problem is I'm used to Pork Butt taking 20 hours or more because of temp problems, but this batch (30 pounds) cooked to 203F in 18 hours! Um, I wasn't prepared for that! LOL Now it's all wrapped in foil and tucked in a cooler until this evening. I've held it for 4 hours before, but this time it will be more like 6. We'll see how it goes. I don't want to deprive the guests of the sight of these beauties. I forgot to take pictures though...

It also works with Weber kettles as well as other cookers, and it does a great job.

Abom, Nuke em, SlushDeezey, @ecopwr, You said a Mouthful Abom! I use the BBQGURU DigiQ DX-2 on both a Weber 22 1/2" Kettle with a S 'n S and on my Oklahoma Joe Highland Offset Smoker! I use the Pit Viper (Small) Fan on the Weber and the Larger Pit Bull Fan on the OKJ! Many Cooks on the Weber and I am very Happy with the Control! Only a Couple of Cooks on the OKJ and I am still Learning! Will let you Know!

You'd have to check out their website, but I'll bet you could. You buy the adapter that attaches the fan to your smoker separately, and they have them for a lot of different smokers.
