    Toaster Question??

Not exactly low and slow but will all my foodie friends here in the pit I thought I'd ask. I need a new toaster. Bought a blah blah 4 slice from Wally world about 6 months ago. Its about done. I cant see that Kitchen Aid 300.00 beauty in my kitchen anytime soon but need something for sure.

Any recommendations? I'm not finding many answers out there.

    Thank much.

I would buy a toaster oven. I would not trade mine for any toaster. See what Cook's Illustrated recommends.

Jon Solberg , we've got a 4-slicer KitchenAid but I sure didn't pay 300 smackers for it! It's worked well so far.

Just got a digital toaster oven. Only about $80. Bunch of presets that can be reset. Timer can be set up to 1 hour. Got convection too. Course I can blow on top toasting bread, and that would technically be convection also.

We have a T-Fal 2 slicer chromified looks just like this one. Mine is T-Fal, not Krups, probably same thing different pile. Had it for a year now and is used at least once a day. No problems, works great!

I'm with the toaster oven bunch. Oven, toaster, broiler, convection - all without firing up the big oven. Digital temperature control. I think ours is a Cuisinart, similar to this current model Cuisinart TOB-195. We've had it for at least 10 years, and it gets used a LOT !

I use a Breville Smart Oven. Great for toast but since we got it I think I've only used the oven in my stove once. It's a great little appliance and it's especially good at reheating BBQ. I use it from everything from baking bread and pies to roasting vegetables and cooking meatloaf. (I also use it to sublimate mugs, but that's another story.). Expensive as toaster ovens go, but worth every penny. It also fits a standard quarter sheet pan.

If you don't pay $300+ then your toast will be of much lesser quality. J/K.

Just like coffee makers, I find what I put in it makes more difference than the pricetag, label, or the equipment itself. [Bring on the mass corrections to that statement!]

For toast from storebought bread, I love Aunt Millie's Country Buttermilk for toast, it's dee bayssst!
