However, I will occasionally have a vanilla porter float in the summer (Empyrean Vanilla Porter w/a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream) as I usually drink stouts & porters in the colder months, pale ales & IPAs in the warmer months. I have to add Not Your Father's Root Beer to beers I use for floats.

Hi Timcee I recently purchased the Smoke E-Z for my 26.75" kettle and I also have the SnS. While I love the SnS and I can generally get a good 6 hours out of a load of charcoal burning at 275, I was looking for more cooking space. So went out and bought a 22.5" kettle and had every intention of buying the Smoke E-Z for the 22.5" but my local dealer only had the large one. It was only $30 more than the small one, so what the heck, the wife won't be too upset. In any event, the SnS has now been moved to the 22.5" and I can now get a good 8-10 hours out of a load burning at 275. Unfortunately, I have only been able to have one cook under my belt on the Smoke E-Z, but it was pretty easy to maintain 275 for 8 hours on about 3/4 of a load of charcoal. For versatility and ease of use, not to mention cost savings, I would start out with the SnS. If it is extra real estate you are looking for the Smoke E-Z is the way to go. Unfortunately to gain the extra real estate you have to buy an extra cooking grate. Eventually I will get around to putting Smoke E-Z through the paces and will report back as I go.

Timcee, Craigar, David Parrish, I have a Smoke-EZE, I purchased for my 22 1/2" Weber, by the Time I Took it Apart, Painted It with High Temp "Green" Paint to Match My Weber, It doen't fit the Kettle as I have it Modified? The reason it doesn't fit is due to the Rack and it's tabs on One Side (Maverick & DigiQ DX-2) the Tabs on the opposite side for the add on Lid Hanger further Prevents the Smoke-EZE from fitting? I either need to Modify the Tabs or have the mating edge of the SE run through a Metal Shrinker it will ruin My Paint? Long Story Short I have Yet to Use It!

Danjohnston949 Just do what I did this fall, build a bigger deck! This will only add to the pocket book shriveling, but I'm still alive to talk about it so it's not all that bad!

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Maverick 732, DigiQ, and too much other stuff to mention.
The Smoke-EZE looks pretty interesting: it turns your kettle into a Bullet, it seems.
But further: Do you think it would be possible to add hooks, hang the meat, and have it behave like a PBC?

Mosca, Tom it Comes with a Rack for hangers that fits on the top Rack Holders of the Smoke EZ! It extends up into the Weber Lid! I think the New Weber Grate (with hole) will sit under the Rack so longer items can extend through leaving Partial Grate Space?

Timcee I am still waiting for the local dealer to make good on his word. I will be paying him a little visit Friday morning. I have feeling I am going to get the cold shoulder again. If so, I will reach out to Smoke E-Z to see if they have heard from the guy.

Timcee I went in a couple of weeks ago since this guy won't reach out to me. He said he had the part in the back and when he came out with it, I told him I had the 26.75" model and not the 22.5" model. So needless to say my patience is wearing pretty thin right now. I made the purchase on November 4th and 4 months later the issue has yet to be resolved. As far as the Smoke E-Z goes, it works as advertised. With the snake method I am getting 6-7 hours running at 275. Now I need to buy a second grate to increase the capacity. I can't comment on using the rack for hanging meat because that is the part I am waiting for to arrive. I have been running with the water bowl dry and wrapped in foil. Once the weather warms up I will probably try using the water bowl as it was intended. I haven't planned my next cook, but I am leaning towards some chuck roasts and see how long I can run at 250. The predrilled port for your temperature probes comes in real handy. I have an iGrill2 and I have used 3 of the probes and there is plenty of room to use the 4th. Would I purchase this rig again? Yes, but I wouldn't go through my local dealer.

You could always just buy some aluminum flashing. It comes in rolls of either 10' or 50', and you can get widths up to 24". I'd double the flashing so that it's two layers all the way around for strength. You could use as many grates as you want by drilling holes and using nuts and bolts to hold the grates. A 10' roll that is 12" wide is less than $13, so you could build your own for less than $20 plus the cost of the grates.
