That is interesting. I assume the divider is notched. I wonder if airflow is negatively restricted compared to a standard charcoal grate?

It looks like a useful accessory.
As an aside: Weber kettles have the reputation of offering huge bang-for-the-buck value… they also have an incredible number of accessories, such as rotisseries, Santa Maria adapters, smoker conversions, S&S, etc etc etc. By the time you’re done, you might as well have bought a nice offset instead!

That is a clever design. The only concern I have is with the size of the slots / openings. I can't tell by the image what the gap is but estimate it to be less than 1/2 inch (12mm) . I made a gizmo for my kettle and the slots of 10mm is not ideal. The problem is the build up of ash. My contraption works but with a wider slot would be a lot better.
