    Cleaver Fever

So I was in a restaurant supply store yesterday and this thing jumped into my cart.

You'll regret it when a) the Visa bill comes in, and b) your wife gets her hands on it!

I thought the "jumping into the cart" thing only happened to me.

I think it is a common thing around here.

I blame roving bands of vandals for augmenting our shopping cart.
        Nice addition

That is old school...Brings back a lot of memories of cutting chops and trimming chine bones.. We learned with a handsaw and cleaver before the bandsaw..A great addition to any meat cutting arsenal..Very nice!!

        Very handy.
I have a similar one from Friedrich Dick. It’s a beast but it gets the job done.

When you need one, nothing else will do. Last time I needed mine was to spatchcock a large turkey. Scissors couldn’t quite cut it.

          the cleaver did.

This is my first ever cleaver. Got to get some big pieces of meat now!

Are you sure a 2nd one didn’t jump in? They typically travel in pairs in the wild and have been known to form lifelong bonds. Nice find!

Nice looking piece of cutlery. Congrats! Everybody who cooks as much meat as we do needs a decent cleaver.

Thanks. There have been several times I could have used one but didn’t have it. I am good now until the next thing catches my eye

We have an "antique" cleaver that could probably be used to chop down small trees. It's awesome. This thing is battle scarred, but wow, nothing is safe from it.
