ThermoWorks announced today the release of BlueDOT, combining the simplicity of DOT— a top-rated basic Cooking Alarm Thermometer—with the connectivity of Bluetooth® giving you one simple, connected, powerful thermometer.
Agreed. Considering how the same antenna can do both BT and Wifi (2.4GHz)i, as well as availability of low cost BW/Wifi chips, at that price point I think it should have been Wifi instead of BT. The direct BT competition for this is the Weber iGrill Mini, at $49.
Seems like quite a price jump from the origin DOT, but if you are using a Smoke with the gateway it can be like an extra probe when date comes up on the app.
