That sucks, man. Good to know... I fried a couple probes on my Fireboard doing a heat test, trying to see how high my Yoder would go. Not quite as painful, as they're only $15 each, but still...
I am thinking I may go ahead and try out a Meater. If it works ok (I'll definitely need to use the WiFi/Bluetooth "bridge"), I may pick up some more. I love having multi-monitoring capability, but danged if I don't hate all these freaking wires running everywhere!
Ok. I'm ignorant. How do you set up this wifi bridge? I have an igrill 2 that I would like to be able to check temps with when I am gone. I have a tablet I connect to it so how can I connect my phone to the tablet from somehwere else?
I may be mistaken but I don't think your igrill2 has wifi capbility. You have to have a thermometer with wifi capability in order to be able to monitor it when you are away from the device.
