I apologize if it appears as showing off. I didn’t mean it that way. I was excited & waited with much anticipation for a couple of months. Just thought ya’ll would be excited to. Here’s a pic of it oiled up &ready to go in for 1st seasoning.
Well, after a couple of cooks it ain’t purty no more. And, boy am I glad. My wife commandeered it from me with first cook and almost burned some hash in the skillet (actually she did, her eyesight isn’t all it used to be). It looked like some of the bronzish finish was taken off & she thought she had wrecked it. After a cook of bacon, a good part of the fancy finish is now gone. I now feel free to treatin it as it is, a cast iron skillet, ready for rough & tumble. What it now needs is to cook, cook, cook. Yessir, no more fancy.

For what it’s worth Dept. This is my final report on The Arrival (maybe) better known as the Stargazer CastIron 10.5 skillet. She is a beaut. Workin with it you can’t help but appreciate the large handles, especially the main bigun. It feels a little lighter, that’s all I can say, since I don’t have a scale to weigh it. I know, I know, it’s on the top of my list to get. The biggest thing I noticed was the inside depth is 3/16†deeper than my Lodge, although from the exterior it is the same as you can see in the pic of the two side by side. That’s all I got. It will be the work horse of the kitchen.
Ok, I’m not liein to ya. I did say maybe. Here’s a cook in honor of Spinaker, eggs, which slipped out unbelievablely & the beloved SPAM. I’l be honest here, I had never had Spam before. Didn’t think I would due to the high sodium count. But, this is my only meal of the day, since I will shortly have a molar yanked. So, Spam it is.
See FireMan ............ This is what happens when you tempt me!!!!! I just couldn't resist. I have to wait until December to get it but i am pumped. This is will be a great edition to the collection.
