My No. 7 BSR. I believe this is the Century line they made into the 90's. Not sure what year this is. Beauty of a pan though, been my workhorse for almost 30 years.

      BSR's are Great Pans!!!
I have several, an enjoy th fact that they're still 'relatively' unheared of, therefore, market prices have not gotten all outta hand, like fer Griswold, or Wagners...

Yeah, before I figured out what it was last time I stripped it down it was just "my skillet". Now I keep a weather eye out for BSR stuff every time we hit an antique mall or flea market or suchlike.

      my workhorses are BSR

Brought her back to life. She's as smooth as glass and I can't wait to use it! My mom said it may have been made by my great great grandfather who was a blacksmith here in the Catskill Mountains around the early 1800s.

A man, a hammer, a fire and a hunk of steel. Beautiful!

Is anyone familiar with or tried this brand... any thoughts about it?

Never heard of 'em. I do notice that in the picture on the Amazon page their "milled smooth" surface is... covered in machining marks. It does look like the handle might be a bit more comfortable for smaller hands than a Stargazer. Probably worth a shot for $40.

I have not heard of them. But it is an interesting pan.

That griddle looks very cool! Careful heatin it up, looks preety thin....

I was trying to go through every page, but, I will just ask. I am considering a Marquette Castings 4qt enamled cast dutch oven. One reason, so I can bake two loaves of bread at one time, and to have one of my dutch ovens to be used for small batches of soup or chili, even pasta sauce, until I can afford to maybe buy a 6 qt dutch. ANy feed back on Marqquettte Castings enameled dutch? Even though I said I would not, I have added a few cast in the past 4 months, and could see myself always on the look out. When shopping used, are there maybe 2-3 brands that regardless the condition (assuming it can be refinished, which I don't quite know what that looks like either), but, any brands that should come with trust by name alone?

ID:	743021 So, I know this has been beat to hell. But posting anyways. These are two lodge cast and carbon steel pans I had taken down to no seasoning, and then re seasoned. Just started the process of taking my 2 sideded cast griddle.

Nice! I have this on as well! I need to use it again. I have made some great roasted chicken over bed of veg/potatoes. A 17” omelette could be fun!

I really do recommend Nutiva Shortening to season your CI. I rehab my CI with this - I buy a lot of vintage - and touch it up with grapeseed oil.

There are very few things I don't like. Coconut is one.

HawkerXP I like hydrating with coconut milk that has no additives. So I know the taste. I've never tasted the coconut in Nutiva - not on CI.

Smithey just released a Dutch oven. Looks super nice. If only I didn’t already have more DOs than I can use.

Honoring the best of vintage American Dutch oven design, the 5.5 Qt Dutch Oven is a beautiful and functional kitchen work horse that is destined to be a modern heirloom. It’s the perfect Dutch oven for families of four or for those who love to slow cook and stew. Featuring Smithey’s signature polished interior surface
