    ISO The perfect grill tong

I'm tired of flimsy tongs that don't grab with any strength. What are your favorite tongs?

    #2
I have had a pair of Weber branded tongs for years. They still work great.

Yep, but I recommend the deluxe/pro or whatever they’re called. The ones with one-piece “arms.” All of their one-piece tools seem to be made well. No joints/connections to fail and they clean up easily.

These things are beastly and blow anything else I have had out of the water. Great company as I have several of their products.

I have this tong as well, highly recommend. Very versatile.

I got these a couple of years ago. Best I've ever had, they have little teeth on the business end so your stuff can't slip out.

Those look good…and built like the Weber model I recommend. Each side is one piece so they can’t come loose or get water/grease/whatever into the “arms.”

Thanks, All. I'll give them a try.

The Pioneer Woman 12" tongs from Walmart work great, and only $8.

Don't know the brand name, but have been using them for over 10 years.

I think I have some of those No Name Tongs myself.
I got them at a store, I don't remember their name, but I think that they are out of business.

I just checked mine. There is no name in them.

OXO Good Grips Grilling Tongs were top rated by Cooks Illustrated. Of my multiple sets of tongs, I like them best.

Third. The OXO tongs have exceeded my expectations with turkeys, pork butts, and brisket.

I have OXO good grips, a few different lengths. Have had them for years. the shorter ones have the black nylon on the end but the longer ones I use on my kettle are full stainless steel and are locking, which helps for storage. I also have a fancy heavy duty stainless steel but I don’t know the brand name, but I prefer the OXO.

These are the ones I have - at least 4 pairs, the oldest being ordered in 2014 (I just looked on Amazon) and I cannot tell the oldest from the newest. Absolutely wonderful.

My wife got me a set of Williams-Sonoma grilling tools 10 or so years ago. Tongs, spatula, brush, fork. I use them all regularly to this day.

The case has kept them all safe and undamaged over years of hard use. I BBQ/Grill/Smoke at least once a week.

All the stuff you need. The fork gets the least use, but it still comes out often.

The tongs are awesome. The metal loop to hang it doubles function to lock the tongs closed when you aren’t actively using them.

I have replaced the leather on them multiple times, no big deal. I keep a length of rawhide thong in my things drawer.

The key is heft, weight, and resisting torque. You also have to remember to clack them together multiple times before each use.

A satisfying clack is critical for good bbq outcomes. An excellent reminder.

           1) Debuyer offset for detail turning like peppers or wings
          2) Lamson for everything else. The Lamson are a set I got last year for Fathers Day - because they were having a sale 🤫🤐😉

I hate it when my thongs get flimsy.

Sorry, couldn't resist--looks like that darned autocorrect got you again. Happens to me all the time, but seldom with such a cute result.
